VINTAGEonPHILLY Goes Places: Pin-up Photoshoot at The Fortress of the Arts
Last weekend, I had the opportunity to visit The Fortress of the Arts, an art collective in North Philly, to do a video project for school. On Sunday, a couple of owner Kat Reilly's meet-up groups converged to do an awesome pin-up photo shoot. It was a long day but so much fun. Here are some pictures I took during the day.

VOP GOES PLACES: Life Outreach Thrift Store

Hi readers and vintage lovers. It's been a long time since I've made a post to the site and for that I apologize. I am in the thick of my last semester at Temple University and have had little time to go thrifting. I made up for some time the last couple of weeks and bought some really cool stuff that I will share later today. But for now, I would like to show you all some of the work I have been doing for my class. It's vintage related and I thought you all would enjoy it.

Me and my class partner Kristina write for Philadelphia Neighborhoods, an online publication dedicated to the coverage of under-reported neighborhoods in Philadelphia. We just finished a story on a great thrift store in Allegheny West. We first discovered this church run secondhand shop for charity a few weeks ago while canvassing the neighborhood. Check it out, they could use all the business and support possible.

VOP GOES PLACES: Vintage On Florida
First, let me please apologize for my lack of posts over the last couple of weeks. I needed some time to relax and prepare for my next and last semester of college. I've been spending a lot of time with my family and friends.
Currently I am in Florida, visiting my brother, his wife and their 2-year-old baby boy in Orlando. I am planning to also visit my father in Jacksonville later this week. Its been a blast and surprisingly, we kept finding vintage goodies and inspirations. Here are a few of the them.

My mom found a vintage package of her favorite candy, Mike and Ike. The orignial packaging is so much cooler.

My sister-in-law has been trying to convince my brother to buy a microwave to more easily foods. My brother, being all Emeril Lagasse (big bro is a chef, a pretty awesome one) on us and complained that microwaves destroy the taste of food. I'm inclined to agree, but when you have a hungry toddler running around, pallets and seasonings do not matter as much.
Thankfully, on the way home I spotted a little garage sale in a neighbors driveway and sitting as though it were waiting for her was a used but in very good condition microwave. We convinced them to get it and they also got a couple of very Florida wicker patio chairs, all for a great price.

I first saw these adorable Dolce Vita oxfords on my sister-in-law and fell in love. Being the sweetheart that she is, she took us all to Ross where me, my little sister and my mom all found a pair in our size. Score!

VOP GOES PLACES: Oma Vintge Cocktail Party and Sale

Last Thrusday, my best friend and fellow photographer for the evening, Jessica and I took a break from the stresses of final exams and stopped by Oma Vintage for the holiday cocktail party. There were treats, drinks and also, a great sale. I found the cutest white belt. I'm thinking about pairing it with some strappy sandals and a baby doll dress circa 1991. Thanks Oma!
